Service Day 2020 saw our whole secondary school community throw on their old clothes and get to work.
There's a proud Service Day tradition here at ICS! For our secondary students, the second-last day of school is almost as highly anticipated as their final day out at Jamberoo.
In a normal year, students would depart the school in teams to help out in a wide range of service opportunities all over Wollongong - but of course, in 2020, nothing is quite like a normal year.
Instead, we stayed at school and used the fantastic opportunity that gave us to really dig in and get the place looking amazing. Students chose between activities like helping clean out storerooms, helping move furniture, gardening, rainforest regeneration, sewing boomerang bags, getting on the coffee machine for thirsty staff members (a very important job!), painting, and much more.
